CSI Tamil Parish Dubai is one of the oldest churches started back in 1979 in Dubai, UAE. Our worship is traditional but our outlook is modern. We believe the primary message of the gospel is love and that justice is love in action. We believe in reaching out to each other and to our homeless neighbours.
Formed with few families in 1979, the congregation has grown into a mighty tree with branches in Jebel Ali, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah, outstretched to accommodate the weak and the low, the poor and the needy. CSI Tamil Parish Dubai is a distinct and diverse community of Tamil Christians that come together as one church to join faith and action. With more than 3000 members, together we live out our love in ways that creates positive impact in our communities.
Today, we continue to change the lives of people throughout the Emirates and India. We do services in labour camps, who are in need, especially with financial difficulties and encourage them by counselling and guidance. During festive seasons, thanksgiving meals are distributed to the less fortune people.
We instil our vision into our youth and young adults who will imagine new dreams to continue this noble service into the upcoming generations. We believe that God calls us to be servants in the service of others and to be good stewards of earth’s resources. “To believe is to care, to care is to do”.

Vision

To equip broadminded leaders and form a multicultural community with a diversified congregation by crossing the cultural barriers of geopolitical, ethnic, linguistic, socio-economic for the lost society in and around us by Life changing Gospel of Jesus Christ, Prayer, Leadership, Character, Compassion, Courage, Strategic Involvement and Structures for the glory of His Kingdom.

Mission

In obedience to the great commission of Jesus Christ, equipped leaders and all segments of the congregation make a significant impact to the targeted people groups of the world and make them disciples to see them on the Alter of Calvary.

History of CSI Tamil Parish Dubai

CSI Tamil Parish Dubai was founded in 1979 by a group of young Tamilians who grew up in the CSI faith back home in India. Each one of the founding members had relocated to Dubai in the 1970’s in search of prospering their careers, but had never lost sight of their greater purpose to serve God at all times. As such, they had established the CSI Tamil Parish Dubai and the first service was held at Holy Trinity Church on 4th May 1979. As the church was still small in members and contributions, the Pastor from the CSI Malayalam Parish used to lead the worship and serve communion on 2nd Fridays of every month. On the other Fridays, the Lay-preachers of our Parish took turns to conduct the services and gave the sermons.
Gradually the church grew in members and finances, which justified obtaining a dedicated Tamil Pastor from India. In 1990, we requested the Chaplaincy of Dubai & Sharjah to sponsor a Tamil Pastor for the CSI Tamil Parish and the then Cannon Reverend Gurney complied with our request. Ever since, the Chaplaincy has sponsored a Tamil Pastor who is sent to us by the CSI Synod on a 3-year rotation from each of the Tamil Dioceses of the Church of South India back home. First Friday falling on or close to 4th May is celebrated as Church Day to mark the anniversary of CSI Tamil Parish Dubai.
